The Preserve at Fischer Mansion is included on the National Registry of Historic Places. Great efforts were taken to preserve the integrity of the 100 acre historic estate including the Fischer Mansion which was converted into 4 townhomes, the old carriage house which was converted into the community clubhouse and part of the magnificent gardens “Flowerland” were saved and transformed into a nature preserve.
The National Park Service’s National Registry of Historic Places was authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act in 1966. The Registry strives to coordinate and support both public and private efforts to protect America’s historic resources. The National Registry of Historic Places is the nation’s official list of historic places worthy of preservation. Over 80,000 properties are listed on the national register and amazingly almost every county in the nation has at least one place listed. This includes over 30 historic lighthouses which have been preserved for public use.
